De Riet – Namibia

With a project team of around 20 people, consisting of team members from Lightforce, Liter of Light Germany and TOSCO, we have pioneered a very first project in North-western part of Nambia.

In a total of 5 project days, the team managed to build and successfully install 95 street lights and 95 mobile house lights (Lightboxes).

Street lights were installed around local comunities and directly around open stables, where locals put their cattle, sheeps and goats with the goal to increase safety.

The main problem we wanted to solve here was to prevent wildcat predator attacks on the cattle, which are a real danger to locals foundation of living.

With the lightboxes, main purpose was to improve the locals living situations, as they often do not have sustainable light sources to use inside their houses or on the go.
