Lightforce 2019
Lightforce 2019
The first edition of the Lightforce Project in Senegal led to the lighting of three rural villages in the Kaffrine province, through the installation of 120 Streetlight and 50 portable lamps (Lightbox).
In addition, the technological innovation of the project has resulted in the production and installation, for the first time, of about 40 Mobile Charger, solar mobile phone chargers, in community homes.
Thanks to these devices, villagers will no longer be forced to travel kilometers under the sun, if lucky on the back of a donkey, to charge their phones. Instead, they will finally be able to do so in a totally independent and sustainable way from their homes.
This project is part of the second edition of the Lightforce project, a Corporate Social Volunteering (CSV) program supported by the Salesforce company and its European partners, which provides for the support of some teams of corporate volunteers to the Liter of Light teams in the planning stages and local implementation of lighting interventions in the darkest areas of the world.
In Senegal, in February 2019, 15 employees of the French headquarters and as many collaborators of the Senegalese partner company Neurotech, made possible, thanks to the coordination of the technicians and project managers of Liter of Light Italia, to ensure energy access for almost 1500 people.
During the same period, the CSV project was replicated in parallel in Kenya, Brazil and the Philippines, with the coordination of local Liter of Light teams
